ABOUT DEG FOUNDATION
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY,
I'm happy that you decided to check out our new website. DEG Foundation has spent the past twenty two years serving over 6,000 youth from 21 LAUSD high schools. We have been blessed and privileged to contribute to the growth and development of many incredible young men and women of our communities. The 2024-25 academic year represents the rebooting of our programs to make a greater difference. We will continue to help high school students, but have launched a new pilot program to support student parents at community colleges and universities. Our passion is support those who are struggling in life to access higher education to improve their lives. In my mind, nothing is more important than you feeling confident and having clear direction to become the leaders of tomorrow our society needs.

Our Philosophy
DEG Foundation believes every youth served by our programs are deserving of respect and our full attention. Our youth and their schools need caring and committed adults to support the creation of environments where success is expected and possible for all.
Our History
DEG Foundation started in October 2002, when Mr. Hopper and students from Gardena High School and El Camino College helped him establish a unique after school program that has become a model for LAUSD/Beyond the Bell programs districtwide.
